Are you one of the many people enjoying the flexibility to being
able to access the internet anywhere using your laptop and a USB
modem? If so, you are probably bound by a monthly contract,
which many of the prepaid wireless internet providers moved to
when this mobile broadband first became available.
You can now enjoy the ability to have broadband on the move on a
prepaid contract, enabling you to budget according to what you
need in downloads per month.
Verizon Wireless was the first to introduce the prepaid service
in the USA, but was closely followed by its main competitor
AT&T. Both companies offer the same prepaid packages which
enable you to take internet for one day, one week or per month.
A day will cost you $15 and will give you 75mb of data; this is
ideal if you are out of the office all day and need to stay
connected to the internet.
The weekly limit is 250mb and you can expect to pay $30, while
the monthly prepaid limit is 500mb at a cost of $50. The bonus
with prepaid is you are not obligated and if you don’t need the
internet for one or two months, you don’t have to pay for it,
but it is nice to have the ability to have internet when you
need it no matter where you are at the time.
Other close contenders are Virgin Media who charges a $60 price
tag for 1GB and Millencom who offer unlimited for $60. While
DataJack offer you 7GB for $49.99, there is always Cricket
Wireless who charge $65 for 30 days, but offer you 7.5GB.
What you do need to be careful about when considering the plans
these providers offer is if they cap the amount of usage. So if
you are offered unlimited for 30 days for a certain price, is it
in fact unlimited or is there a maximum?
Virgin Media and Cricket both slow down their data speeds the
minute you reach 2.5GB, so you need to be careful of this when
finding which provider best suits your requirements.
Enjoying the ability to check your emails or surf the web
wherever you are, even in a moving vehicle is still new and
exciting. For businessmen it is a necessity, but it has now been
adopted by self-employed work from home owners, students and
people who just want to be able to check their emails, social
media sites and download quick information whenever they choose.
To have the ability to download information, surf the web and
check emails on the go, you need to pay for it. The confines of
a monthly contract have put a lot of people off buying these
data plans. It’s frustrating having your mobile phone on a
prepaid service, but you have to take a monthly contract for
internet, well this has changed and you can now have the
advantages of a prepaid plan on both your mobile and USB modem
by finding the right prepaid wireless internet providers that
meet your needs.
